The randomness.

The senselessness.

The misery.

It appears the NRA maxim has taken a shot: “the only way to stop a bad man with a gun is with a good guy with a gun”.

In Vegas on October 1, “the only way to stop a bad man with a gun is… the bad man with his own gun”: early reports indicate Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock took his own life after killing over 50 people among injuring over 500 more as he randomly shot at Vegas concert goers.

While there is an irrational fear of immigration… here is exhibit A for its folly. We have met the enemy… and he is us.

No doubt there will be more misery to come out of this event. The reach from rounds and rounds of indefensible gun fire indiscriminately killing, wounding, and missing hundreds will seep inexorably to every relative, every friend, every neighbour, every coworker who ever knew anyone who as there.

No doubt there will be more confusion, more hang ringing, more calls for gun control, more NRA promotionals, more shootings, more deaths…

Lord have mercy.
